Gay books in Europe

EUROPE (IGNA)-Gay books are beginning to appear in Germany, mostly fiction. In the past only a few hardcore pornography books were published, but now some firms, notably Rosa Winkel Verlag in Berlin and Joachim Foerster Verlag in Frankfurt, have brought out some 30 titles. Types include novels, poetry, autobiographies and non-fiction books on homosexuality and pedophilia.

The Dutch parliament is preparing a law that will protect gays who ask for asylum in the Netherlands. They will be given the same protection as other refugees.

Singing star Cliff Richard told The Daily Star in London that the

question he is most asked is if he is gay. "I am not," he said. "One day I will marry and have

children."

'Queen Beatrix of the Netherlands has pleaded for more frankness in talking about pedophilia and homosexuality: As president of the national committee for the Year of the Child, she ordered the subject of pedophilia to be included in a book about children.

A spokesman for the police in Munich has said that Munich has become "the meeting place for European homosexuals." The spokesman added, "It's a pity"
